TTakimu
TERMS

Clear terms for using Takimu.

These terms describe the responsibilities of schools and users when using the Takimu service.

Last updated: 28 August 2026

1. The service

Takimu is a product of Lucent Digital Creatives and is provided as an academic platform for schools. Features may include learner records, attendance, assessments, academic analysis, report cards, parent access, school notices, SMS notifications, staff roles and data exports.

2. School accounts

The person creating a school workspace confirms that they are authorized to act for that school. The school is responsible for the accuracy of information entered into Takimu, assigning appropriate staff access and keeping account credentials secure.

3. Authorized use

Users may use Takimu only for legitimate school, academic, administrative and parent communication purposes. Users must not attempt to access another school's records, bypass permissions, interfere with the service, upload malicious material or use Takimu for unlawful activity.

4. Learner and parent information

Schools are responsible for ensuring they have an appropriate basis to collect, upload and use learner, guardian and staff information. Schools should keep records accurate and remove access when it is no longer appropriate. Takimu processes school-controlled information to provide the service.

5. Pricing and payment

The standard public price is stated on the Pricing page. Large schools, school groups or institutions may receive a separate commercial arrangement. Pricing, billing periods and any agreed implementation terms should be confirmed before paid service begins.

6. SMS notifications

Where SMS notifications are included, they are intended for reasonable school communication such as reminders, notices and results-ready alerts. Fair-use limits may apply to protect service quality and prevent misuse. Takimu may restrict abusive, unlawful or unusually high-volume messaging.

7. Availability and changes

We aim to keep Takimu reliable, but uninterrupted availability cannot be guaranteed. We may maintain, improve, add or retire features as the product develops. Material changes that significantly affect paid use should be communicated appropriately.

8. School data and exports

The school retains responsibility for its academic records. Authorized users can export supported data from Takimu. Schools should maintain any additional records or backups required by their own policies or regulatory obligations.

9. Suspension or termination

Access may be limited or suspended where required for security, non-payment, misuse, legal compliance or protection of other users. A school wishing to stop using Takimu should contact us so account closure and data handling can be coordinated.

10. Liability

Takimu is a software service and does not replace a school's professional, legal, safeguarding or academic responsibilities. Schools remain responsible for decisions made from their records and for reviewing information before issuing official reports or communications.

11. Privacy

Our handling of personal information is described in the Privacy Policy.
